Edenbridge Market History

Edenbridge market was established by a Charter granted by Henry III in 1227. The Market Yard was the site of a regular cattle market from the mid-1840s until 1928 – if you look at the east wall you can still see the rings that were used for tethering the cattle.

The market today is operated by Edenbridge Town Council, having taken over from a private operator in the summer of 2021.
